Being brave

Jen Hatmaker - BLOG

I love this article in the link above. It makes me smile and I hope I can encourage Jameson to be brave instead of scolding him when he climbs on the hearth, back of couch, and scales the barstools. Granted, I was the kid who was never made to wear a helmet and our trampoline definitely did not have a safety net. How do you protect your kids without being overprotective?

Jake is great at encouraging Jameson to be fearless, but I'm pretty sure that's what daddies are made for. Jameson absolutely loves it when he gets to work on his acrobat skills with his dad.

Thankful Thursday - Valentine's Edition

I am the luckiest girl to have two of the very best valentines possible! I am so thankful for Jacob. He works hard for our family, doing what I never could working 5 days a week. And he comes home and loves me and Jameson even when I may be acting like a stinker, which I'm sure he will tell you is never ;) And Jameson, well he stole my heart long before I even heard his heartbeat for the first time. And what makes him even more special is that he makes my love for Jake even stronger. It's absolutely incredible. I am so thankful to have these boys in my life. Happy Valentine's day my loves! XoXo

Ice Skating

A few Sundays ago we met up with family to go ice skating, something Jake and I hadn't done in years and never together. I had not really planned on putting Jameson on the ice, but the man handing out ice skates gave us his smallest pair for Jameson to try free of charge. He loved it. Now he mostly just stood still while I skated with him between my legs but he had a smile on and even giggled a few times. It was super cute and we only did 2 or 3 laps (very slow laps) but I hope it has lasting effects. Jameson has a great sense of adventure and isn't afraid of much, but my hope is that he continues to try new things even if they seem a little scary. Maybe we even have a future hockey player? Now that really is scary!

We have some video too but I'll have to get Jake to post that.
