Thankful Thursday

I almost got away with it. The cashier even had my card in hand. But nope, Dad swooped in with a large single bill in hand and insisted "no, no take the cash!". The cashier looks from me to him and back again, stuck in an awkward battle, the battle of the lunch bill between father and daughter. Dads always win. And so do Moms.

One day I will win, but until then I can be thankful for family who still remembers me like the smiling little boy I carry proudly on my hip.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for the pitter-patter of little feet. It is the newest and most joyful noise in our house right now. In the last few days Jameson has really taken off and I can't think of a sweeter sound.

10 months

Well it's official. I've started planning Jameson's first birthday, at least in my mind. It's hard for me to express how much of a joy this little boy is to me and Jake.

I was startled this morning when the smiling face looking up at me in the morning shadows was the face of a little boy and I had to look hard to see my baby. Each day brings one more step, quite literally, as Jameson gets more and more adept at walking every day. His two top teeth have come through (so adorable) and two more will soon follow and one more sneaking up on the bottom. He is a nature lover and is very content to explore the back patio and just look out into the backyard. He has also become a very good mimic, expressions and noises are very entertaining to Jameson. He continues to delight in chasing the dogs and succeeding at capturing Lila and trying to ride her like a bull. I have to laugh when he spins himself in circles using his legs while sitting on his bottom. We are still working on some new signs, but I haven't seen any put into action yet, although I haven't been super consistent with it recently. Our trips to the store have turned interesting when he decides he should try and stand to reach what he wants and wriggling out of the safety belt. He thinks it's hysterical. And if there was any doubt that he is "all boy" he has now learned to crawl under our coffee table so I see some forts in our future!

All in all life is pretty great around here. We are planning a few fall trips to the cabin with anticipation. I'm trying to be proactive about prepping for Jameson's birthday and the holidays because they will both be here before I even realize it. Until then I'm just trying to enjoy all the special moments.

Decent pics of a 10 month old are hard to come by. I should have put his sticker on his back! And looks who is trying to climb a tree!
